Please bail out your customers

EDITOR—I request MTN, Celtel, utl and the new entrant Warid Telecom to devise means to enable customers retain their contacts once they have lost their simcards and want a replacement.

EDITOR—I request MTN, Celtel, utl and the new entrant Warid Telecom to devise means to enable customers retain their contacts once they have lost their simcards and want a replacement.

Since a replaced simcard has the credit (airtime) one had by the time one lost it, I think the same technology can be used to enable one retain their lost contacts.

One can argue that it is an individual’s responsibility to backup their contacts.

However, if it is really “All about you”, “We care” and “making life better”, the companies concerned should bail out their valued customers.
