MOSES Kipsiro will lead a team of three Ugandans to the Berlin leg of the IAAF Golden League meet on Sunday. The Golden League is the highest event on the World Athletics Tour, whose top performers are invited to the World Athletics Final.

The world 5000m bronze medallist was invited with 800m runner Abraham Chepkirwok and Boniface Kiprop, who is expected to compete in the 5000m event.

According to their country manager Godfrey Nuwagaba, the trio will thereafter fly to London for training.

Elsewhere, Global Sports Communication has taken Doreen Chesang to Europe for more competition.

Chesang flew out yesterday to Netherlands, where she will be based. She is expected to compete in a 3000m event on Saturday in Zaragoza, Spain, before making an attempt to qualify in the 5000m for the World Junior Championships due in Poland in July.

Meanwhile, Justine Bayigga will again try to hit the Beijing Olympic Games qualifying mark when she takes part in the continental permit meet in Addis Ababa today.

In Monday’s Khartoum Grand Prix, she was 0.13s and 0.4s off the 400m and 200m qualifying marks in the respective events.

Mildred Gamba and Waisswa Lukungu will also try to hit the mark in the 200m and 400m events, and Jimmy Adar in the 800m.

Stephen Kiprotich, is eyeing the games mark in the 10000m at a permit meet in Neerpelt, Netherlands tomorrow.

Steeplechase runner Simon Ayeko is in Paris, France, where he also starts his bid to qualify for the Beijing games.
