TENNIS - Seed four Duncan Mugabe, could not save his face at the Riad 21 junior tennis tournament in Morocco, when he was ejected by Colombia’s Federico Saboga. Mugabe, who was a quarter-finalist at the RUC tennis international junior open in Casablanca last week, was beaten by the South American 7-6 6-3 on a day that saw five seeds fall at the first hurdle. Top seed Philippine Casey Alcantara lost to Briton James Chaudry 7-5 6-4.

Sevens event postponed

RUGBY - The Tusker Safari 7s tournament that had been slated for this weekend in Nairobi, will be played on June 21-22 instead. Uganda was due to send a team but the hosts postponed it to concentrate on preparing for their Confederation of African Rugby qualifier against Cameroon next week. Uganda will take on Botswana in their own qualifier for the CAR, an event they won last year.
