DID you know that by shopping you can end up earning more than you spent? Thanks to foreign companies pitching business in Kampala.

Believe it or not, by buying products such as mobile phones, mineral supplements, cosmetics or even chewing gum, you can make so much money that can make you quit your nine to five job and still live a happy life. Sounds too good to be true, but these are stark realities of buying from multi-level stores.

“All that a shopper has to do is buy a Pirelli mobile phone or a genuine Swiss watch from us. Should this shopper go on to convince her husband or employer to buy the same phone, we shall give her $40 (sh68,000) as a sign of gratitude for bringing us another customer.

This way, a person can make thousands of dollars just within a matter of days. It depends on how adept you are at convincing more people to buy the products,” says Joseph Luwedde, one of the marketers for QuestNet, a multi-level market.

QuestNet is currently promoting a certain Pirelli mobile phone which makes phone calls for as low as sh180 per minute.
QuestNet also sells genuine Swiss watches, jewellery and gold medallions or coins.

QuestNet products go for hundreds of dollars; but shoppers are guaranteed to get this money back, if they convince their friends and family members to buy too.

Other multi-level companies in Kampala include Swissgarde, Tianshi, GNLD (Golden Neolife Diamite), Dynapharm, House Of Health and Avon. These often deal in health, beauty and personal wellness products that will strike any shopper by their novelty.

You can buy mineral and vitamin supplements, beauty soaps and creams, perfumes, toiletries, jewellery, watches, and home decorative items from any multi-level stores. These cost between sh30,000 and sh100,000.

“I started out by buying calcium mineral supplements for my bones. I liked them. So I advised my aunt who was having problems to try them.

She did and the company gave me a commission. These days, I continue to get huge sums of money,” says Rose Walusimbi, a member of GNLD a multi-level store.
