Crawling is one of those phases where a child is full of activity, is mobile, and more prone to accidents. Crawling, for some babies, may be hard and burdensome, more especially if the surface is rough.
Betty Mwaka, a business lady at Divine Stores, Yamaha Centre, Luwum Street, Shop No 50, says, “Soft knees or crawling pads are one good answer for the knee of the active, busy crawlers.â€
They give your baby comfort and protection as he crawls. They also help prevent the baby from getting dirty or stained knees.
The soft knees or knee pads help the child to avoid bruised knees, cuts, and burns.
Knee pads are attached around the baby’s knees. These could also make unique baby gifts for a friend’s crawling baby. They also the baby from slipping or slippery surfaces. Knee pads keep the baby’s knees from getting hard and cracked.
With soft knees as the name implies the child’s knees are cushioned from hardening as they grow up.
Mwaka says depending on the surface the knee pads could last through a baby’s crawling phase.
At Divine Stores prices range from sh5,000 to sh10,000 depending on the size and make; which include cotton and woolen soft knees.
