EDITOR—On June 4 at 12:30pm, I boarded a Nyakishenyi bus Service bus in Kampala.

It had moved for less than 200 metres when it ran out of fuel!
The conductor ran with a jerrycan to collect some fuel from a nearby filling station where he spent over half an hour!

After that the bus got brake and gear problems and we had to park at a fuel station from where we were directly driven to a garage in Kabusu where we were kept until 3:30pm!

Our appeal to the Natete police station for assistance fell on deaf ears.

Instead they referred us to Katwe police station.

The bus crawled from Kampala to Lukaya where we were told at 5:30pm to wait for another bus!
The driver, the conductor and the tout abandoned us after having taken our money and after we had suffered so much.

Those of us who had some money took other vehicles when it started getting dark, leaving other passengers and crying little children surrounding the bus! Such behaviour is criminal Nyakishenyi Bus Service and should shape up or ship out!
