Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg have informed FUFA that Cranes skipper Ibrahim Sekagya will be able to return home tonight to prepare for the Angola games.

Sekagya who suffered a groin injury in Cranes’ 1-0 win against Niger, missed the Benin soccer match as he returned to Austria for treatment.

“His club say he has steadily recovered,” FUFA chief executive Charles Masembe said yesterday.

“I have improved steadily and should most likely be in Kampala by Tuesday,” Sekagya reportedly told a relative on phone.

Striker Massa, who collapsed in pain a fortnight ago after rupturing a thigh muscle, has gradually regained his fitness.

“I can finally run without pain at the moment but when I shoot the ball hard, I feel some slight pain,” the 22-year-old striker stated.

Federation officials have however lost contact with defender Nestroy Kizito who went home to attend to his ailing father.

FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa meanwhile met the players and coach yesterday and got their commitment to rectify the mistakes made in the Benin game.

“They have put aside Saturday’s poor result and believe they owe it to themselves to make up in the Angola match,” he said on phone from Benin. Cranes return home tomorrow.
