MEMBER of Parliament Frank Tumwebaze has been elected to represent Africa on the executive committee of International Federation of Agricultural Producers (IFAP).
This was during the IFAP bi-annual international congress organised by global farmers in Poland to discuss emerging issues affecting farmers.
IFAP is a global organisation of farmers made up of national farmer organisations from different countries worldwide. The Uganda National Farmers’ Federation (UNFFE), of which Tumwebaze is president, is a member.
IFAP was formed in 1946. The executive comprises 21 members.
The congress also discussed the escalating food prices and climate change and resolved to send its resolutions to the ongoing FAO UN conference on food security.
