Ntinda was home to one of the biggest dances worldwide, as the passa passa dance talent search kicked off at Yakobo’a bar quadrangle recently.
The favourite and timeless street dance party drew hundreds of fans, some of whom were there for sheer curiosity, owing to the misrepresentation the dance received.
Ntinda folks are the “intellectual lotâ€. Shortly before the dance started, they formed groups and channelled energies on discussing the passa passa dance.
When it took off, with rookie dancers taking to the stage, many never minded much. Knowing how hard it is to find beer at sh1,500 in Ntinda, they made a beer line for the counter buying Pilsner by the litres.
Even when you thought they would not consume all the beer, it emerged they were more concerned about entering a raffle in which branded Pilsner T-shirts, caps and polo shirts were up for grabs.
When the dances were unleashed on the crowd with vibrant and energetic combinations, you knew who hailed from Kiwatule, Kalinabiri and Kamwokya et al.
Even with more talent searches to come up, one felt the Ntinda talent search had already unearthed the group that will be performing at all UBL functions.
