SPORTS Betting Africa (SBA) soccer punter winners Hassan Mukomba and Dennis Kakande, who recently won fully paid trips to watch Euro 2008, have ditched it and opted for the Emirates tournament slated for August.

The two lucky winners were due to travel to Switzerland and Austria on Sunday June 23 to watch the semi-finals of the ongoing European soccer championship, but dropped the idea when the Emirates tournament was floated.

The lucrative club event, organised by Arsenal’s shirt sponsors Fly Emirates, has invited three other top European teams.

Spanish champions Real Madrid, HSV Hamburg of Germany and Juventus of Italy are the clubs that will join hosts Arsenal for the tournament starting August 2 at the Emirates.

“Such chances come once in one’s lifetime and I will go anywhere SBA take me,” Mukomba said. “Arsenal, Juventus, Real Madrid are great teams, it will be great for me to meet some top stars from these clubs,” he added.

The sports betting company has given out a number of jackpots and winners money to soccer fans for correct match result predictions.

SBA chief executive officer Simon Mpanga said: “We were ready to fly them to watch Euro 2008 semi-finals, but they came to us and opted for the pre-season club tournament to satisfy themselves.”

SBA will next season send two soccer punters to watch premier league games involving Arsenal and Chelsea.
