PostBank launches first ATMs

POSTBANK has installed six of its first Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) at its Kampala branches.

Stephen Mukweli, the managing director, explained that the number would grow to 19 by the end of the year, reports Winfred Kagwe.

He said the ATMs were user-friendly.
He disclosed that stand-alone ATMs would also be installed in commercially-busy places.

Mukweli was speaking at the launch of the ATMs on Wednesday at the bank’s head office in Kampala.

The ATMs were supplied by Map International, a US-based financial services firm.

Michael Landau, the MAP chairman, disclosed that telephone banking would be available to the bank’s clients in the next three months.

Eldard Kansiime, the bank’s chairman, they were finalising the application process with the central bank for the provision of a wide range of products.
