Drama ensued at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala where the Pakistani community in Uganda had converged to meet their foreign minister Shah Makhdoom Qureshi, when he was in Uganda for the OIC meeting last week.

The centre of attention were two prominent Pakistani car dealers in Kampala, who openly brawled. Azhar Malik, the Managing Director of Al-Malik Group and Javed Tariq of Chatha Motors, both located in Kyambogo on Jinja Road, almost exchanged blows upon meeting.
The two were restrained by fellow countrymen and the Pakistani honorary consul to Uganda, Boney Katatumba, who urged them to stay calm. Like us, many of their fellow Pakistanis were at a loss as to why the two wanted to fight. However, a close friend to Malik revealed that the two do not see eye to eye and want to fight every time they meet.
