Comfort zone
Dear Total Man, I have a problem of excessive sweating of the hands and feet. I have had if for years and it is getting worse. If you shake my hand, you can think I have just washed them. What can I do? John
Dear John, Generally speaking, different people sweat at different rates and produce different amounts. Sometimes, a change in the usual pattern of sweating may be a sign of a different problem. Did yours start at about puberty? If so, then it may be your normal pattern. You can control sweating by using anti-perspirants. These are chemicals. The most common ones you will find are roll-ons or sprays.
Make sure it is an anti-perspirant and not a deodorant alone. You can also use Aluminium Chloride Solution from a pharmacy.
You apply it on the hands and feet before you go to sleep and wash it off in the morning. Use it for a few months. Follow a doctor’s or pharmacist’s advice.
