IRONING garments is an activity dreaded by many people because it is cumbersome. However, with the innovation of a garment steam iron, ironing has been made easy.
A garment steam iron is an electric appliance that irons clothes using steam.
How it operates
Fill the water tank unit of the iron with cold water to the marked level. Place the water tank back into the unit, making sure it sits properly into the cavity.
Plug the steam iron and switch on. In 45 seconds continuous steam is emitted from the nozzle where the garment steam brush is attached. Hold the flexible hose and simply pass the brush onto the creased cloth surface.
Joseph Kalule, a sales manager at Best Connections on William Street, says, “A steam iron is convenient, fast and safe and quickly removes creases from your clothes.â€
Kalule says the iron comes with a number of accessories. It is designed with a garment hanger to hang the garment while ironing, so one does not need an ironing board, which saves space.
It minimises burning of clothes because it has an automatic reset system which regulates the heat. The steam iron is portable and can be used anywhere because it comes with rolling casters for mobility.
The steam iron costs sh170,000 at Best Connections Limited on William Street in Kampala.
