I would like to comment on the words of President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe in the the new york times when he was sworn in for the sixth time on Sunday. <br>
I would like to comment on the words of President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe in the the new york times when he was sworn in for the sixth time on Sunday.
Mugabe said in case any african leader criticised his election, he would also criticise that leader because it is a habit of most african leaders to cling on power!
Upsetting as it is, Mugabe is not very wrong! One needs to look at some recent elections in East Africa. Mugabe is an old man but he started showing signs of dictatorship at the very beginning of his leadership.
Let us hope what has happened in Zimbabwe will not happen in Uganda. Clinging to power may be fashionable in Africa but it comes at a high price.
