LASZLO Csaba could still abandon the Uganda Cranes even if his preferred transfer to Scottish side Hearts falls through.

The latest reports indicated that the Hungarian-German coach has already had talks with an unnamed South African football club and European national team.

A European publication the Daily Record , quoted Csaba as being impatient. He is said to be pushing for a transfer to Hearts, or else he considers the other two offers on table.

“In the last three weeks there have been approaches from a club side in South Africa and a European national team would also like me as coach, so Hearts is only one of three good offers I’ve received,” Csaba confessed.

“But it would be a very good thing to work in the UK, which is respected as the home of football, and I know the SPL is a really good championship. I also enjoyed working at club level with Borussia Munchengladbach and Ferencvaros,” he added.

Csaba, 44, is best remembered by Hearts fans for being on the receiving end of a kick from then club boss John Robertson following a stormy UEFA Cup clash against Csaba’s Ferencvaros at Murrayfield almost four years ago.

Hearts majority shareholder owner Vladimir Romanov will conduct at least one more interview this week before deciding on an appointment.

Ugandan soccer governing body FUFA is willing to accept £120,000 (sh396m) compensation from Romanov if he insists on securing Csaba and the Cranes head coach shows interest in a transfer.

FUFA would then go on a frantic search to get a replacement ahead of crucial games away in Niger and at home against Benin.
