The Ugandans shrugged off the challenge of runners from Kenya and Algeria, giants of long distance races.
Uganda stepped up gear when Patrick Chibota threw a personal best of 71.75m in javelin to win fourth gold for the hosts.
The home team is also on course to win the football and women volleyball titles while Rwanda is in line for the men’s volleyball gold medal.
Uganda is second on the medals tally with four gold behind South Africa with a haul of eight.
