THE First Lady, Mrs. Janet Museveni, has urged the Basoga to support the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Government for its good programmes that have brought development into the country.

“Everyone who loves Uganda, its future and the next generations, should support NRM. I commend the leadership and people of Mayuge district for continuously supporting NRM; your actions are justifiable.

“You know where we came from, where we are and where we are going,” she said, citing decentralisation, Universal Primary Education, Universal Secondary Education and prosperity for all as programmes that the good leadership of the NRM had brought.

Mrs. Museveni was speaking at the commissioning of Kasutaime and Bugulu health centres in Bunya East county, Mayuge district, last weekend. She urged everybody to take interest in the two facilities constructed and equipped by the Government, and play supervisory roles to ensure the maximisation of their use.

Janet reminded the people that although the Government provides social services such as education, health and infrastructure, it cannot directly solve household poverty without the population’s input. She called for hard work.

The State Minister for Gender and also Mayuge Woman MP, Rukia Nakadama Isanga, assured the people of the area that the Government budgeted for the improvement of the road system in the district.

She asked local leaders to be involved in the implementation of programmes to ensure quality work from contractors.
