ISMAIL Kigozi was the hero as 10-man Ugandan representatives URA brushed aside Miembeni of Zanzibar, to storm the Kagame Cup semifinals yesterday.

The URA striker scored the opener in a pulsating match at the Old National Stadium in Dar es Salaam. Kigozi headed in a cross from right winger Dan Wagaluka.

The pint-sized attacker, who later went off injured, had dribbled past Othmar Omar before delivering a cross that found unmarked Kigozi for the opener.

An own goal in the 70th minute by defender Lulaga Mapunda gave URA a ticket to face an onfrom Simba side.

The Tanzanain soccer champions knocked out defending champions APR of Rwanda.

URA will go into their crunch game tomorrow without midfielder Tony Mawejje.Mawejje was shown his marching orders by Kenyan referee Thomas Onyango after two yellow cards for persistent fouling.

On the bright side, coach Moses Basena will be able to call on defender Sam Mubiru to fill the gap after he competed for the first time in the tournament.A groin injury forced Mubiru to sit out the two group matches in Morogoro.
