Young people need to change their attitudes towards life, in order to lift themselves out of poverty, the renowned Zimbabwean motivational speaker, Douglas Mamvura, has said.

“Until you make an effort to start something, you will never know what you are capable of doing. Many people have been tied down by moving in a continuous cycle of poverty and disease, because they limit themselves and what God can do for them. You need to widen your thinking,” he said.

Mamvura is also the managing director of eTranzact Zimbabwe, the first online real-time payment system that allows individuals and corporate account holders to pay for goods and services purchased online.

He was speaking to over 1,000 young professionals from across the country during the four-day Inspire Conference at Grand Imperial Hotel, under the theme ‘Success Beyond Limits’.

He urged the youth to set up goals that would be productive, adding that for people to attain successful living, there was need to overcome common challenges that caused them to give up on projects they started.

Inspire Conference aims at motivating young people and giving them guidelines to a successful living. It is a coalition of eight churches and a brainchild of Deliverance Church, Makerere.

Mamvura challenged the youth to leave a positive mark on the world.
