KAMPALA-The City Council has assured people intending to use the newly-constructed flyover of its safety.The council’s spokesman, Simon Muhumuza, on Tuesday said the flyover met the required standards and its construction was approved by the city engineers.The first of its kind in the city, the flyover joins two arcades on Ben Kiwanuka Street, both belonging to a Kampala businessman, John Bosco Ssebalamu.

Balikuddembe market to shift
KAMPALA-Vendors in St. Balikuddembe market will soon shift to a new site in Kisenyi as the market is redeveloped. This was revealed by the chairman, Godfrey Kayongo, who said the project would cost $63m, acquired through a loan from Bank of Africa and DFCU Bank. “The market has a population of 10,000 and three acres of land have been acquired at sh21m on which the vendors will be relocated,” he said.
