I found Juliana seated alone and I sat next to her. I watched TV quietly and after sometime turned to ask if she was expecting anybody. She replied; “I’m waiting for somebody I don’t know.†“I , too, am waiting for somebody I don’t know,†I said.

She laughed and said, “Isn’t it funny that we’re both looking for strangers?†She looked very beautiful. I was amazed at the way she articulated issues.
At first she only answered my questions but by the end of the date she had opened up. She told me how she was Miss Busia thrice and how she had adopted two street children. I liked the fact that she’s kind-hearted.
When it was time to leave she thanked me for my company and said it was long since she had last had a conversation like ours. We exchanged contacts and she promised to keep in touch. She stood up, gave me a hug and I left.
Have you called her since then?
My battery was low but I’ll definitely talk to her as soon as possible.
You sound ecstatic about the girl. What impressed you about her?
She was very open in the way she talked. She is also kind and friendly.

Family matters, although they would come later as we got to know each other better.
What weren’t you comfortable with?
She had very long painted nails and I have a different perspective of ladies with such nails. But when I asked her why she has them she said all beautiful girls have such nails.
The other thing is boozing; she kept calling for bottle after bottle and since I don’t drink, I didn’t like it. I told her how I gave up drinking after somebody warned me against it in a dream. She promised to consider my advice to give it up.

“Why do you take alcohol?†he asked. “Just for fun,†I replied. He told me how alcohol was bad and I told him I knew it. He then asked me whether I have a boyfriend and what I do for a living. When I told him that I sometimes assist my dad in his office work, he switched to business.
How was the guy?
He was good. He behaved well and talked in a nice way.

He was talking about his plans for the future and to me that was commendable. He emphasised hope and patience as pre-requisites for success.

Maybe his height. There is a popular belief that short men like battering women. I don’t know if that is the case with him too.

I’m generally a loner. But if I’m not busy, I’ll go since we’re now friends.
