POLICE in Mbarara are holding a 37-year-old man who allegedly killed his wife. Charles Rwita, a resident of Kyenombe Village, Nyeihanga in Mbarara district is said to have hacked his wife, Ruth Natamba, 28, with a panga, shortly after they had returned from Nyeihanga Church of Uganda on August 13.

POLICE in Mbarara are holding a 37-year-old man who allegedly killed his wife. Charles Rwita, a resident of Kyenombe Village, Nyeihanga in Mbarara district is said to have hacked his wife, Ruth Natamba, 28, with a panga, shortly after they had returned from Nyeihanga Church of Uganda on August 13.
The Mbarara district Police boss Ivan Nkwasibwe said Natamba, a business woman in Nyeihanga Trading Centre went with her husband to church for counselling over family matters, but the husband hacked her on their return.
He added that villagers found the assailant hiding in the bush and wanted to lynch him. He was saved by Police from Nyeihanga.
