THE engineering department of Walukuba-Masese division in Jinja Municipality has been blamed for the substandard work done on some of the projects in the division.
Speaking during a division meeting recently, the LC3 chairman, Musisi Kibugujju, said it was a disgrace that there was a lot of poor workmanship on some of the projects.
He said it was the responsibility of the department to watch out for shoddy work.
Kibugujju cited Eden and Parekh roads which were recently repaired but have already developed gullies.
He also said work done on Lakeside primary school and stone pitching at Masese was not good.
Kibugujju said he would invite the resident district commissioner to tour the projects that have been undertaken in the division and take appropriate action against the people responsible.
“Whoever is doing work contrary to our expectations will be held responsible.
Those of you who are sabotaging development in the division are rebels,†he said.
He hailed the Government for extending the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) funds to the division and called for proper implementation and monitoring of the programme to eradicate poverty.
“The money given through NAADS should not be seen as a political campaign for President Museveni. It is for developmental purposes to ensure that the people who use it can increase their household income to eradicate poverty,†Kibugujju explained.
