M-NET's reality show Big Brother Africa III was launched last night with a Ugandan, Morris Mugisha, a fashion model with Sylvie Owori, entering the house at 09:20pm local time, reports Pidson Kareire.

The M-Net’s reality TV series kicked off with a celebrity welcome for the 12 housemates as they walked on a red carpet into the house to begin their 91-day adventure.

Contestants from Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Angola, Namibia, Zambia, Nigeria, South Africa, Botswana, Malawi and Zimbabwe are eyeing the grand prize of $100,000 (about sh160m). The participants will be evicted every Sunday by the viewers.

Gaetano Kaggwa was Uganda’s first representative in the Rand burg-based house and was famous for his sleazy moments in the house. The previous representative was Maureen Namatovu, a fashion designer.

The 12 housemates will live a 24-hour coverage as the much-loved Channel O VJ and radio DJ, Kabelo ‘KB’ Ngakane, return to present the series.

The house is equipped with 24 cameras and 52 microphones to provide the viewers a birds-eye view of the show all day, every day on DStv channel 198. Also gearing up is the M-Net website, www.mnetafrica.com/bigbrother.
