Mayor urges film firm to market Kampala

THE Deputy Mayor of Kampala Florence Namayanja has urged the Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs (CITES) to help market Kampala City to the world.

THE Deputy Mayor of Kampala Florence Namayanja has urged the Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs (CITES) to help market Kampala City to the world.

Namayanja who was addressing participants at the CITES film festival in Kampala, said the organisers should use this event to highlight the city of Kampala while presenting their works for honours.

“I urge the organisers of this festival and those who will be presenting their works, to highlight Kampala City as we have achieved lots of success in sports,” Namayanja said while opening the second Kampala International Sports Film Festival at Club Rouge.

She thanked the organisers for the professionalism they showed while linking Kampala to the whole world. She represented Mayor Nasser Ntege Ssebaggala.

Africa has five entries from Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation Television, WBS Television, Uganda Broadcasting Corporation, DHL Sports (South Africa) and Flashback Limited (Kenya).

The annual festival will showcase various works/productions of professionals in TV sports journalism from as far as UK, USA, France, Japan, China, Australia, Sweden. The winners will be sent to Milan, Italy in October to decide which entry takes the top accolade.
