I am not convinced by the PAM awards

There is no doubt to any local music fan that this year has been the year for Moses Radio and Weasel.

These people’s album has been the best and most played in the history of Uganda’s music with over eight tracks ranging from nakudata to nakutamani playing constantly on the airwaves and night clubs. These tracks are accompanied with videos.

In the category of artiste of the year, people like Bobi wine, Juliana Kanyomozi with only a few hits this year should not have been nominated.

I keep wondering what criteria apart from massive radio, TV airplays, record sales and the quality of the music the PAM Awards selection committee uses.
I thought that even if an artiste was upcoming and he or she made it big in the year he or she was eligible to contest as artiste of the year.

but this does not seem to be the case with the PAM Awards and makes the whole thing monotonous and may not motivate upcoming artistes.

The PAM Awards organisers should encourage fresh artistes. Radio and Weasel are my best artistes of the year and they made my year and I hope they will be consistent. I believe the sky is the limit for them.
