PROFESSIONAL golfers Deo Akope and Godfrey Mande will make a second attempt for a World Cup slot in Malaysia next week.
Akope and Mande will represent Uganda at the Fortis International World Cup qualifier due in Malaysia September 18-21.
The Ugandans depart next week for the official practice session scheduled for September 15-16.
Akope and Mande will also compete in the Pro am event on September 17 ahead of the qualification tournament that will be played over four days.
“When we competed in the tournament last year, we learnt quite a lot and I think this time a place in the World Cup is a realistic target,†Akope said.
Akope and Mande need $6200 (about sh10m) for return air-tickets, accommodation and upkeep.
