NORTHERN Uganda is set for the City Tyres/Friends of Football (FOF) U-14 Champions League slated for Thursday to Sunday at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara.

Arua, Lira, Gulu and Kitgum have completed their verification and selected teams of 18 players and two officials each to take part in the tournament.

“The exercise in northern Uganda was smooth and had no hitches and now we are all set for the action,” FOF administrative secretary Davis Katabira said.

“The teams are going too converge at Old Kampala before we all proceed to Western Uganda for the finals that will run for three days.”

Kampala district had its qualifiers on Sunday with Makindye topping the group with six points while Central Division also picked up the same number of points.

Lubaga, Kawempe and Nakawa occupied the lower part of the table respectively. Today, FOF will select a team of 18 players to represent Kampala.

This will be the second time that the annual youth tournament is played up-country after last year’s final that was held at Layibi College in Gulu. Kampala are the champions.
