BUNAMWAYA and Villa take their off-season battle to the pitch when they clash in the Super Division soccer League at Nakivubo today. Villa that lost the fight for international striker Caesar Okhuti’s signature will be out to settle the score and close in on league front -runners KCC and URA.

But Okhuti, who returned home with the Cranes squad yesterday after the 3-1 defeat against Niger in a World Cup/Nations qualifier on Sunday, is eager to give Bunamwaya value for money in the club’s biggest fixture this season.

“We will take this match like any other game. Okhuti has already telephoned club officials informing them that he’s available. He’s a disciplined boy,’ Bunamwaya coach Jackson Mayanja said.

“He will train with the team this evening (yesterday) and I will consider him for the match.”

Villa coach Sula Kato will also not wait for Cranes defender Simeon Masaba to shade off the jet-lag. Masaba was in the team that went to Niger.

“Masaba is a key player, we want him to play. We need a good result in this match and Bunamwaya is such a difficult team,” Kato commented.

With left-back Godfrey Walusimbi shaking off a knee injury and central defenders Asuman Alishe and Tony Ndolo in good form, Okhuti will have to work hard to penetrate the Villa defence. Villa will look to top-scorer Emma Okwi, Stephen Bengo and Geofrey Luutu for goals.

At the same time, Edris Kaye’s free-kick from the edge of the box 15 minutes into the game was all Victors FC needed to secure their third league win yesterday.

Kaye scored brilliantly, at Kakindu stadium, to push the side to fifth place on the table. Victors now have 11 points from six matches.

Youfra also had a few moments at goal but scoring was their undoing. Left winger Denis Opio hit the wood work in the 30th minute of the game.

At Nakivubo, Sharing got their second win of the season courtesy of a Musa Nuru-sha header in the 18th minute.
