MTN is offering subscribers immediate connection to the Internet.

“This simple, convenient and cost-effective service is backed and enabled by the MTN GPRS/EDGE network,” Sheila Kangwagye, the MTN spokesperson, said.

The service, she added, would work through a USB modem. It requires no additional configuration, Kangwagye disclosed.

“This is an “always on” Internet solution throughout the month that will automatically select the fastest available data access method based on the capacity of the network at that specific location,” she explained.

Kangwagye said the facility uses remote wireless connectivity that provides unlimited Internet access from any location and offers unparalleled flexibility regardless of the purpose of use.

She, however, said subscribers would have to pay to access the service. This would be via the monthly pre-paid option or the pay as you use service.
