A woman who recently strangled to death her four children, including twins is still undergoing treatment at Butabika Mental Referral Hospital.

The hospital director Fred Kigozi, on Wednesday, said: “After realising that her children were dead, Margaret Kasande developed trauma. She thought her children had also survived. It is a very traumatic experience she is facing. We are still treating her.”

Kigozi, however, declined to the state the mental illness Kasande was suffering from on admission, but said people who commit such crime, could be victims of stress and depression disorders.

On July 30, Kasande a resident of Kamwokya a Kampala suburb strangled her children, including a pair of twins, inside her rented two-room house before attempting suicide.

Neighbours say Kasande committed the crime after learning that her husband intended to abandon her.
