RENEGADE boxing clubs have blamed National Council of Sports (NCS) boss Jasper Aligawesa as the stumbling block between them and UABF. This was raised in a highly charged meeting probing boxing wrangles at Lugogo yesterday.
“This matter would have been solved long ago but the problem Aligawesa is very biased,†charged former heavyweight boxer Charles Kiiza.
The problem started when Aligawesa objected to the presence of Kiiza a former UABF executive in the meeting.
“Kiiza is under suspension for misappropriating funds,†Aligawesa charged to the uproar of the club delegates.
“This is bias. I have not received any suspension notice,†protested Kiiza who was later cleared to stay on.
Aligawesa later stormed out of the meeting as club members chanted in support of his departure. The probe committee chaired by Willy Odwong is investigating the persistent wrangles in boxing.
The clubs also blamed normalisation committee chairman Dr. Ntege Ssengendo and secretary David Kyambadde who have since become executive members of the federation for tampering with the constitution.
