Mengo rules on funeralsMUKONO-The Buganda kingdom has introduced certificates for the last funeral rites ceremony. While officiating at the burial of Edith Nakazaana, the daughter of Ham Mukasa, the late Kyaggwe county chief, the Kattikiro of Buganda, Eng. John Baptist Walusimbi, said Baganda would no longer be allowed to conduct last funeral rites without the certificates. he said the move was intended to make Baganda stick to the original norms of conducting funeral rites, in which all the clan leaders were informed of the event and all clan members gathered for the function. “The certificates will only be given to those who go through the right channels of conducting the rites,” walusimbi said.
