SKILLED bowler Charles Waiswa is expected to rejoin Tornado as they try to cement their position on top of the Castle League table.

Waiswa, who has been playing semi-professional cricket with the Nottinghamshire Premier League side Killamarsh in England, returned to Uganda yesterday.

The player’s return has however caused a quiet jostle for his signature though indications are that he is likely to sign up with Tornado.

Before departure, it was rumoured that Waiswa had quit Tornado during the transfer exercise and was set to join Africa Cricket Club.

“As far as we are concerned, he is not registered with any club,” Uganda Cricket Association organising secretary Davis Turinawe said.

“We will only wait and see which club he will appear for in the Cricket league.”

Tornado, who topped last year's table, but lost the trophy to ACC in a boardroom decision, will face Wanderers on Sunday.
