TWO more Bukedde FM listeners have won money in an ongoing promotion, dubbed “Wangula ne Bukedde”. The radio’s presenters call a number and the person is required to answer the phone with the phrase: “Bukedde FM, Embutikizi.”

Rita Mwamba won sh900,000 on Wednesday when she received a call from the presenters of the Akayisanyo Evening Show.

Another listener, Yusuf Basalirwa, a resident of Kayunga, also won sh100,000 on the same day.

A total of sh4.2m has so far been won out of the sh7.5m the station plans to give away to its listeners.

“I am at a loss for words. I can now fulfil my dream of becoming a national musician,” said Basalirwa.
Basalirwa, an upcoming musician, says he will use the money to record his music.

An overwhelmed Basalirwa, who received his cash from Bukedde presenters, Omukunja and Hellen Nakacwa, showered praises on the radio station management and promised to remain a loyal listener.

Another winner is Mike Lwanga, a trader from Bulenga, who won sh300,000. “I thank this young station for giving back to its listeners and I will use this money to boost my business.”

Bill Tibaigana, the radio’s programmes director, said the promotion would run for a month.

Bukedde FM on frequency 100.5 FM is owned by the New Vision Printing and Publishing Company Limited, the publishers of Bukedde and New Vision newspapers. The company also owns Vision Voice FM 94.8 and Radio West FM 95.2.
