A memory card adaptor is a simple device that allows a storage card of a different size to be accommodated without loss of function.
Rogers Turigye, a technician with Genex Computers on Kampala Road, says: “The card adaptor makes it possible for one card to be used in different gadgets like phones, digital cameras, video game consoles, music players and other electronic devices with dissimilar card slot shapes. This saves you from buying cards for each device you use that requires cards.
“By using the card through an adaptor, you would be guaranteed of long life for your storage card because of the protection offered by the adaptor,†Turigye says.
Memory cards come in different brand names like Scan disk, Samsung, Toshiba and Epro, but they can perform in different brands.
Memory cards are available in computer accessories shops costing from sh10,000 upwards, depending on where you buy one.
