What started in Kyadondo rugby club as casual fitness drill for ladies conducted by legendary English coach James Park is now a run away success.

It is said after the men’s painful exit from the 2007 RWC qualifiers James Park who had coached many of the players at school level was so overcome by emotion he had to lock himself up in his car to shed a tear for his former protégés.

Christine Kizito doing a cart wheel at the final whistle was scary but epitomised the player’s excitement at their almost impossible achievement. Emerging coach David Mutaka also becomes the first coach to qualify for the RWC.

Kitaka memorial 7s tournament
This weekend the national UTL sevens circuit climaxes in what promises to be a dramatic finale. The Kitaka memorial is held in honour of the late Edward Kitaka, a distinguished Kobs player and administrator who contributed to growth of rugby. The final features utl Kobs and MTN Heathens.
