Manz Denga, the United Bank of Africa (UBA) Uganda managing director, has been appointed the regional executive officer at the newly created Eastern Africa divisional office with headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.

The regional office will be made up of five countries; Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, and southern Sudan.

UBA opened shop in Uganda in May.

Manz will also head the UBA Kenya office, when the bank starts business in the country very soon.

He said the appointment was in line with UBA Group’s strategic plan to consolidate its dream of becoming Africa’s global bank.

“UBA has set an ambitious plan of becoming Africa’s biggest financial services provider.

In line with this, our operations on the continent have been zoned into Southern Africa, Central Africa, The Maghreb (Northern Africa) and East Africa,” he said.

He said his appointment would strengthen and quicken UBA Group’s presence in the region.

A replacement for Manz has not yet been named.
