FORMER IBF junior middleweight champion Kassim “The Dream” Ouma, made a perfect return to the ring by knocking out journeyman Martinus Clay in Philadelphia, USA, on Saturday after a three-fight losing streak.

It was a big signature for the southpaw fighter as he improved his record to 26(16 KOS) 5-1 and looked forward to better options.

Ouma had dropped awkwardly on the world boxing rankings after the three successive defeats to former WBC/WBO middleweight champion Jermain “Bad Intentions” Taylor, Mexican Saul Roman and Cornelius “K-9” Bunderage.

It was the first win for the Ugandan fighter this year and his 16th knockout in a career that started in 1998.

Ouma has knocked reputable fighters like Congolese Alex Bunema, Pedro Ortega, Carlos Bojorquez, Juan Carlos Candelo, Alfredo Cuevas and Francisco Antonio Mora.

His manager, Tom Moran, said ahead of the fight that Ouma needed a break and was now reenergised for the boxing season ahead.
