DEAR Total Man,
I am 25. Four years ago I got mumps, with severe pains down my testicles. A year later, when I tried to have sex, I had pre-mature ejaculation. What can I do?
Michael

Dear Michael,

Mumps is a viral disease characterised by swelling of the salivary glands. It usually affects children and attacks only once. It can attack the testes and ovaries when it attacks an adult. There is severe pain, which heals.

Later, one may get problems with fertility.
Pre-mature ejaculation is when one releases sperms soon after penetration. It is common and not due to mumps.
It can be caused by many things.

Most are psychological; you maybe very excited, say after a long time without sex and this causes you to ejaculate too quickly. You can train yourself to hold on. During sex, communicate with your partner.

Don’t be hurried, be comfortable. If you ejaculate too quickly, rest, and then continue for another round. Practice makes perfect. If this fails, talk to a doctor.
