WHEN the world’s renowned motivational speakers and coaches make an appearance, a few people are invited to attend their seminars at an exorbitant fee in luxurious hotels, but this trend might soon become history.

The first leadership training session by Intelligent Performance, a Ugandan firm, showcased a new generation of Uganda’s first class intelligent performance coaches.

“I am recommending intelligent performance, especially Philip Kambe, for the superior coaching they provided at the leadership training in May. Intelligent performance and their team provided outstanding training and succeeded in meeting Job Connects’ training expectations,” Doreen Mwesigye, the chief executive officer of Job connect, wrote.

Several other people echoed similar views after the coaching. “Intelligent Performance’s splendid presentation and the excellent event were of utmost importance to us. We will call on your firm’s services anytime we have need for more training and coaching,” says Jimmy Kutosi, the chief executive officer of World Wide Logistics.

During the seminar, Philip Kambe, a young energetic and talented speaker, breathed inspiration into the audience. His coaching was content rich, motivational, inspirational and educative.

Kambe’s messages got to the hearts and minds of the audience. He is a highly trained and experienced coach with over eight years in the business logistic and human capital management industry. Kambe holds a BA (Hons) in business studies.

Kambe, together with Jimmy Kagusa, an investment and development coach, and Vincent Okema, an investment coach; started Intelligent Performance, a corporate and personal coaching and training firm.

The firm is only six months old. “We provide coaching and training services in business and career, investment, health as well as relationships and youth empowerment,” Kambe says.

Ten years ago, Kambe had a well-paying job. He had reached the level of finance and operations manager.

“It was a good job, it gave me what I wanted but not the life I wanted to live. It was about walking into office everyday to kick people around for not doing their work right,” Kambe says.

He says several questions lingered in his mind at that time. “Why should my job be about finding out what people are doing wrong?” he says.

One day, he walked into a room where a personal development seminar was being held in London. By the time he walked out, he had made up his mind to become a personal development coach. The seminar was addressed by Les Brown, an American.

“Brown tickled my mind,” Kambe says. Later, he went for a training course in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) — the science of the mind. He is a practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming and an accredited member of the British board of NLP.

He explains that in this science, discovered in 1963, you find a mode of success and replicate it. It answers the question of how you get results in a short time.

Kambe gives an example. If you sit down with a successful person like Gordon Wavamuno, you could learn so much from him, actually more than you will learn at university.

“He will tell you the hard knocks and how he went about it. But you have to get into his mind and ask him, ‘what are your beliefs and values’. Ask the right questions and it will be easy for you to replicate,” he says.

Kambe was born in Jinja 31 years ago. He studied at Victoria Nile primary school until P.5, then he joined Makonzi Boarding primary school in Mubende where he completed his primary.

He completed his O’level at Makonzi Secondary school before enrolling at Namasagali College for A’level.

Later, he joined the South Bank University in UK where he graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree.

Kambe’s colleagues are also Ugandans who studied in Uganda before going to the UK for their university education.

Jimmy Kagusa Enoch is the investment and development coach of intelligent performance.

He is an accomplished financial markets and stock marketing enthusiast with nine years experience in the high end competitive consultancy industries in the UK with firms like Tata Consultancy Industries and the Rank Group.

Enoch holds a BA (Hons) Business Administration from the City of London University. For five years, he has been studying the world’s stock markets and investment. He is also a graduate from UK’s Knowledge to Action Trader’s University.

Vincent Okema is the investment coach at Intelligent Performance, distinguished in the area of investment and savings. He holds a Masters (Accounting and Finance) from the University of East London. He was formerly a director of finance and strategy with TERP Group, an African consulting and training firm specialising in strategic public relations.

The trio give keynote sessions rich in content, rivetting and entertaining. They have answers to all questions from a breakthrough to personal development. You could learn about goal-setting, leadership, focus self-motivation and commitment to your goals from them. They have a unique ability to inspire confidence, courage and hope in people.

On September 6, the trio held their second seminar in Kampala at Hotel Africana before heading to Rwanda.

“What we are doing is empowering people. We give real life tools and skills. We put you in an environment that makes you able to give skills that will empower you,” Kambe observes.

“Everyone is capable of achieving something in life. If you follow a certain recipe, you get planned results,” Okema adds.
