School teacher detained over sodomy

THE Police in Bushenyi district have arrested a 25-year-old primary school teacher over allegations of sodomy. Justus Kiiza Turyamureba, of Karoza village in Mitooma sub-county, is alleged to have sodomised a 15-year-old pupil.
The Ishaka Police Station criminal investigations officer, Stephen Masereka Birahure, said Turyamureba, a teacher at Rwentobo Primary School, has been staying with the boy while paying his school fees, since his mother could not afford to.
Masereka explained that the teacher’s arrest followed the disappearance of the boy to his mother’s place.
The Police crime chief said the boy alleged that the practice had been on since May.
He said a doctor confirmed the unnatural act when the boy was taken for a medical check.
