THE Jinja deputy resident district commissioner, Apollo Bwebale, has decried reports of traditional healers and herbalists forcing their patients into sex

THE Jinja deputy resident district commissioner, Apollo Bwebale, has decried reports of traditional healers and herbalists forcing their patients into sex, writes Donald Kiirya.

Bwebale warned that such practitioners risked arrest. “Herbalists should be focused on delivering health services to the people,” Bwebale said.

He was closing a one-day workshop of traditional healers and herbalists that was organised by National Drug Authority (NDA) at the Jinja Town Hall on Friday.

Hajji Lutakome Ssentamu, the herbalists’ representative on the NDA Board expressed concern over the advertisements herbalists make on radios, saying the practice was contrary to the NDA laws.
