STANBIC Bank has entered into a partnership with Akright Projects to provide loans for house construction in the latter’s housing estates.
Anatoli Kamugisha, the Akright managing director, said all people who have bought property from Akright were eligible to benefit from the scheme.
“We have chosen to intensify our campaign to promote living in an organised environment by partnering with Stanbic, which will offer mortgage to enable clients erect houses,†he told reporters at the company’s office at Kakungulu on Entebbe Road recently.
Kamugisha said to qualify for the loans, a person should have a land title, which will be used as security for the mortgage.
He said the company was trying to consolidate gains made in the past 10 years.
Other requirements include a physical plan layout and architectural plan approved by an urban authority, bills of quantities, repayment plan and client’s source of income.
The loans, which are being given out under the Home Loans facility, can be sh100m and above and can be repaid in 10 years.
The Akright estates include Akright Kakungulu Satellite City, Nansana, Lubowa and Namugongo.
