Let’s focus on the youth
EDITOR — I was recently amazed by FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa’s speech stressing the development of youth structures. I will not waste time asking him what he has always been waiting for, but would like him to realise that all parties must be involved if his dream is to become a reality.
This is when we need more academies and more serious clubs to help in this idea, and also the sponsors and fans. Mulindwa must also not make this project a Kampala or central region affair if he is is to reap any substantial dividends.
With this, we would have solved the first equation of lack of lack talent, and go on the next puzzle of nurturing talent to maturity.

Don’t give up
EDITOR —The Rugby Cranes put up a hard fight in the 2009 IRB Sevens World Cup qualifiers only to crash out after defeats to Kenya and Namibia.
I hereby appeal to our national side not to lose heart. There is always another opportunity. Given the organisation and passion displayed by the local rugby fraternity I am sure it will be a different story next time.
