UBC will soon rectify the problem in Kabale

EDITOR—I have been reliably informed by the District Information Officer in Kabale district that our viewers and listeners there have been unable to receive UBC TV and Radio. As a result they have been missing some of our best programmes.

It has been discovered that our transmitter in the area has been faulty. A special engineering crew has been assigned to find out the problem and rectify it. We request our viewers in Kabale to be patient as these technical upgrades in the area continue. I have also received numerous complaints and queries about particular delayed UEFA Champions League games.

On three occasions UBC has relayed games that were delayed by 15 minutes in this tournament. The games in question have featured some of the world’s notable clubs from Manchester United to Arsenal. UBC obtains these games from our partners in South Africa and in Europe.

Delayed games usually come about due to technical irregularities from the source and these are beyond the control of the recipient broadcast mediums. However, UBC continues to work tirelessly with our international partners to ensure that our viewers in Uganda obtain some of the best sporting action on show today.

There are also numerous schools and erstwhile technical institutions that would like to visit our headquarters and upcountry sites. For visits to our upcountry sites, interested parties must get a security and administrative clearance from our headquarters at Broadcast House. Please contact the Public Relations Office for a booking.
