Fina Bank, one of the leading regional banks, has started operations in Uganda as part of its regional expansion strategy. The bank will pay special attention to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), a bank statement said.

Fina Bank, one of the leading regional banks, has started operations in Uganda as part of its regional expansion strategy. The bank will pay special attention to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), a bank statement said.
“We have started with two branches in Kampala; one on Buganda Road and the other in the Nakivubo area, all designed to serve the needs of the growing SME market in Uganda,†it added.
“The two branches have the latest designs, ample banking halls and are manned by customer-focused staff trained to provide first-class services to small business operators,†the statement said.
Robert Warlow, the Fina Bank Group chief executive officer, said East African presents a great opportunity.
“Fina is not only targetting SMEs, but sees this latest addition to its expanding network as a way of facilitating trade between Kenya and Rwanda, where Fina is already represented,†Warlow said.
“We have a reputation of providing a service based on personal attention to our client’s needs,†he said, adding that this would result into enhanced customer loyalty and a steady flow of repeat business.
“By getting to know and understand our customers and their businesses, we are able to satisfy their needs by offering solutions, which solve their problems,†Warlow said, referring to the bank’s unique view of serving its SME clients across the region.
The central bank deputy governor, Opio Okello, will officially open the two branches at a cocktail at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala, today.
