THE Kampala Serena Hotel has been listed among leading hotels of the world, writes Jude Katende.
The hotel has been the first in Uganda to qualify for the rating. The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) is a prestigious luxury hospitality organisation representing over 450 of the world’s finest hotels, resorts and spas.
Hotels seeking membership with LHW apply for admission. The hotel’s managing director, Mahmud Jan Mohamed, said they were among the many hotels, which submitted applications but few were chosen to undergo the next phase of the acceptance process.
“The exercise involved rigorous inspection of facilities. Recognising the hotel as a member of LHW reassures us of the continual need for hard work to adhere to high quality,†he said. The hotel has 152 rooms.
