Ace Ekiring in elite draw
- Badminton ace Edwin Ekiring has been placed in the main draw of the elite players to compete in the Yonex Irish International 2008 Badminton Championships. Ekiring is the only African in the tournament and has been seeded among the 24 world class players who have entered directly on the main draw. The annual event is due December 4-7 at the Baldoyle Badminton Centre in Ireland.

Children’s gala at Ambressori
- Andrew Taekwondo Academy in conjuction with Ambressori International school are organising the inaugural Kampala taekwondo children’s festival on December 6 at the school. Kids from four years of age drawn from five other schools will compete in the one-day event that aims at reviving the sport and teaching them self defence.

Bidco top in Jinja league
- Bidco-Uganda finished on top of Jinja’s Division I league first round with 29 points, five ahead of second-placed Buwenge United. This year’s league is the biggest ever in eastern region with 13 teams participating. The league’s leading scorers are Alex Ngono of Buwenge and Bidco’s Raza Akram with 8 goals each. The second round kicks off on November 1.
